Born in Miami, FL to a multi-cultural Bahamian family, Tenaj discovered her voice at the tender age of 12. She began publicly displaying her talents when she joined her church choir. Over the years, the musical influences of artist such as Whitney Houston, Mariah Carey, Brandy and Aaliyah solidified her desire to sing professionally.

Ms. Tenaj joined a reggae band at the age of 12. There, she was groomed into a musical entertainer. That experience would set the tone for future endeavors. Tenaj's accomplishments with the band included performances at the Bob Marley Festivals, and opening up for Kashiev Lindo - a well known reggae artist and son to Willie Lindo. Tenaj also sang backup for Kymani Marley, which was an amazing opportunity for her. Performing reggae music at such a young age had become part of who Ms.Tenaj was and it will always be a part of her.

Tenaj decided that she wanted to sing R&B music (being that she grew up listening to Otis Redding, Sam Cook, Betty Wright and other legends). Tenaj went on to join a three part girls group called Symphony. That group is where Tenaj, the artist, was created. The group went through many transformations and sadly dismantled after 3 years.

After her tenure with the band, Tenaj realized that she wanted to go on and become a
solo artist and slowly but surely started to come into her own. Tenaj met local producer, Loxamillion and with him, she grew as a writer and studio recording artist. Tenaj developed her art and then signed to DXO Entertainment LLC - an independent record label. A huge accomplishment with the label was when Tenaj heard her single "Never Should've" on the popular radio stations in Miami such as Power 96.5, 99 Jamz and Hot 105.5. Just hearing the song on the radio was major for Ms.Tenaj. The label ended up breaking up, leaving Tenaj to continue on with her music on her own.

Years later Tenaj moved to Phoenix, AZ all alone on a mission to find personal growth and hopes to find herself once again musically. Tenaj met Vaughn "SWIF" Willis through a mutual friend. He gave her an opportunity to perform with his band and opened up for Artists such as Donell Jones, Genuine and Cece PenistonFrom then on, it has been a beautiful experience for Tenaj to have an outlet to sing with such amazing talent.

Ms.Tenaj, now completely a solo act has now released songs independently that are available on streaming services such as Apple Music, iTunes, Spotify, Amazon and more…….

Ms. Tenaj has an angelic, yet soulful voice that embodies the quintessential sounds of old school R&B.

Music will always be a part of Tenaj and she wants to someday be able to inspire people around the world with her music and to motivate younger musicians to follow their dreams
and help pave a way to mentor and develop their skills.
